Saving a workhouse

A 236 year-old former workhouse in Fitzrovia, London that may have inspired Dickens when writing Oliver Twist is in danger of being demolished if it fails to be listed by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. A planning application has been submitted to demolish the building to make way for a new social housing development. A petition to save the building has been placed online at www.gopetition.com/petition/39594.html
